A BRAND NEW GAMEBOY ADVANCE SP CONSOLIZER
No emulation. All original hardware. All original feels.
GBHD Advance offers users a completely custom and unique way to experience their favorite classic games. The Gameboy Advance signals from original hardware are fed into our custom engineered PCB and processed for digital HDMI out with SNES controller input. The sleek 3D printed enclosure is the cherry on top to make the consolizer a perfect center piece for any gaming or creation setup.
Soldering on Easy Mode
NO CONTROL ISSUES
GBHD supports any SNES controller controllers. Whether it be an OEM controller or 3rd party controller, plug it in and start gaming!
LOW POWER, HIGH FUN
No weird proprietary power connectors needed. Only a USB-C cable is required for power (*optional gold-plated power cable provided). GBHD Advance also sips power, maxing out at roughly 350mA-400mA. The low power consumption allows for the consolizer to be powered via any USB port such as a computer USB.
SLEEK MODERN ENCLOSURE
Thanks to Dennis Van Den Broek (@PointerFunction on Twitter), we have an enclosure that is compact and beautiful. Want to print the case on your own? No problem! Case files will be available for download under Creative Commons non-commercial license.
We will add a link for case files here and on our resources page once they are available for download.
COMPLETE CONTROL WITH OSD
Control your consolizer experience by accessing the on screen display to adjust to your hearts content.
ALL DIGITAL HDMI OUTPUT
Utilizing the proprietary Gamebox digital video core, the GBHD Retro consolizer has the ability to output both 480p (720×480 progressive), 720p (1280×720 progressive), and *1080i (1920×1080 interlaced) for maximum compatibility with HDMI enabled televisions and monitors. Resolutions are configurable via options in the OSD menu.
*1080i picture quality depends on the TV/monitor built in deinterlacer and quality will vary between devices in 1080i mode.
**We STRONGLY recommend a high quality gold plated HDMI cable for maximum screen compatibility!
SCALE IT UP
With the additional screen real estate, GBHD scales the tiny 240×160 original Gameboy Advance resolution! By default, the processed image is linearly upscaled 3x in 480p, 4x in 720p, and 6x in 1080i with customizable border colors. Don’t want borders around the image? Not a problem! The image can be stretched to full screen with an overscan option.
SCANNING FOR SCANLINES
Give your consolizer experience a retro CRT feel with 4 adjustable scanline modes. Scanlines range in size, and progressively get wider to simulate the feeling of sitting in front an old tube television.
FILTERING OPTIONS
GBHD Advance comes equipped with pixel filtering featuring sharpening, smoothing, enhancement, brightness control, and gamma correction options for the maximum enjoyment of the games. These filters add a whole new dimension to your GBA games!
GET LIT!
With the Litkit included on the GBHD PCB, you can switch between 16 light modes including 2 rainbow cycle modes making it the perfect addition to your RGB gaming setup!

This here kit, it’s a good kit. To start the process is really simple in terms of a consolization process. The flex cable is a nice addition and while this could be done with regular wires it saves on time which I appreciate. The video quality is great, the colors are nice and the pixels are sharp, any input lag is minimal and it feels quick and responsive to play with. There are a couple of issues, I do wish the 3d printed case was just a few mm larger on x axis. I know it’s to keep the size down but man does squeezing the fpga board and the SP into this shell sucks. You almost don’t need screws it could practically pressure fit. That aside it does look nice. I will say that we would really appreciate if the STL files were available. While I believe the design on the shell could use some tweaks it is over all really good but the print quality is a touch low. Those are just knit picks and would not effect my decision to buy the kit again. If you have SP boards laying around or just want the smaller cube foot print of this kit, then it’s an easy buy. I can’t overstate that the video quality is fantastic and that the board design and electrical assembly process is pretty top tier.
